DIANNE LEE LONGSON

Dianne concentrates mainly on Airbrushing at present. She is devoted to her grandchildren &  very interested in their development. All three are showing encouraging signs of an artistic flair.

Photo floating to the right Dianne became interested in art at an early age and was given encouragement  by her parents. She started working in pencils. (A few examples can be found in the gallery section of this site). She then became interested in Oil painting and after taking lessons she progressed rapidly. She worked in oils for about three years.

The next stage in her artist developement began when her attention was drawn to the art of Rock painting. She was impressed with the work of artists such as Lin Wellford and by her Instructional books. She spent countless hours pouring over smooth rocks and developed an uncanny ability to quickly see if a particular rock was usable. When she sold one of her first Rock Art pieces for over a hundred dollars her Dad could only shake his head in wonder that someone paid that much for a rock. (that rock, a Deer, is pictured in the gallery). She eventually became so adept at making life-like rock animals that dogs would come up to them and bark.

After a few years Dianne changed direction again and jumped into Airbrushing with both feet. She prefers to do her work freehand and avoids stencils like the plague. She is presently preparing for another piece and says that planning and practice (not necessarily in that order)are the keys to success.
